Laravel Agent
I wrote an agent with Laravel. It lived in my website where I do time track and have a thin layer I set up a cronjob. It ran in the mornings and in the evenings. It worked.
It sent nice, thoughtful messages. It looked through my previous days' goals and what I finished. It was very wordy. It was cheap (< 1 cent per day via DeepSeek v4 Flash).
But…
It was overkill to set it up. It felt very heavy. It did not encourage me to write and track goals. Too much in any way. Too much boilerplate. I hoped I could easily connect the agent with the API endpoints I already created. Did not work. Writing agents with tools felt like replicating my full logic around goals.
It did not encourage me at all to work more with my goals.
It also felt extremely clunky, I had to go to a new place actively to interact with it.
Result was, that I worked less with goals than before (when they were simply text notes).
