Let Color – a lean menu bar color picker

A native macOS color picker that lives in the menu bar — no Dock icon. Pick any pixel on your screen and copy it as HEX, RGB, or HSL. Left click on the tray icon opens the system loupe and auto-copies the hex value; right click opens a menu with all three formats. A main window…

LetCount – a lean native countdown timer

A native macOS countdown timer in SwiftUI — a rebuild of my Tauri-based visual-countdown. Click any tick to start counting from that minute; a red sector shrinks as time passes.

LetTasks – tasks across Mac, Android and web

Let Tasks app: a native macOS SwiftUI client, an Android app, and a small Go sync backend that syncs Tasks across my devices. Local-first to-do management with contexts, deadlines, tags and a logbook. Heavily influenced by years of Things3 usage but adjusted to my own processes,…

I put pi.dev and pi web on an own VPS and it gives me a secure always-on harness that I can manage via web browser.

  6. · Note

I have been managing my VPS servers with Ploi for nearly 7 years.
Before, I ssh'ed into my servers, edited with vim, and hoped that nothing would break.
Ploi made server management nice work.
It's still time to say goodbye.
LLM supported harnesses give me all the commands that I need to manage the servers and I do more server management than ever before. MCPs and CLIs help, especially Bitwarden CLI for secrets management.

  7. · Note

Before LLMs, product manager were responsible for doing the right things and engineers for doing things right. Now, product engineers need to take responsibility for doing a, the right things and b, doing them right. And in this exact order. Don't jump to solution too early, fall in love with the problem and find the right one before doing any work.

Today, I learned that the quickest way to get to all tasks in my Things3 todo app is saving a *.url file with a link. I open the tag view in Things3, click on three dots, click on "Copy link" and paste this after URL=. This is a workaround for not having saved searches or bookmarks in Things3.

    URL=things:///show?id={id}

OpenCode with Deepseek Flash v4 (and other non-OpenAI/Anthropic models) does work reliably in code bases now. I have been trying every month as experiment and now it doesn't stop midway or create strange results, but produce good enough output. I feel prepared for price raises and political cut-offs of OpenAI and Anthropic with these new options!

When Derek Sivers has an issue, he follows this process:

    • 📝 Summarize the issue concisely.
    • 🧠 Predict mentor feedback.
    • 💡 Solve independently.
    • 🙏 Thank mentors.

In a more detailed description by Derek:

I have three mentors. When I’m stuck on a problem and need their help, I take the time to write a good description of my dilemma, before reaching out to them. I summarize the context, the problem, my options, and thoughts on each. I make it as succinct as possible so as not to waste their time. Before sending it, I try to predict what they’ll say. Then I go back and update what I wrote to address these obvious points in advance. Finally, I try again to predict what they’ll say to this, based on what they’ve said in the past and what I know of their philosophy. Then, after this whole process, I realize I don’t need to bother them because the answer is now clear. If anything, I might email to thank them for their continued inspiration. Truth is, I’ve hardly talked with my mentors in years. None of them know they are my mentors. And one doesn’t know I exist.
